Monster Soil – frequently asked questions

The Monster Soil Pot is ready to use: 10.8 L of living soil in its own pot – just plant and water. The Monster Soil Concentrate (50 L) is stronger and must be mixed 1:1 with an organic soil before use. It is made for growers who fill their own pots or grow several plants.

No. The Monster Soil Pot is pre-fertilised and needs no additional fertiliser. Monster Soil Concentrate mixed 1:1 with organic soil gives a fully pre-fertilised substrate.

No pH adjustment is needed for either product.

Use chlorine-free water: rainwater, or tap water that has stood for 24 hours. Keep the soil evenly moist and avoid waterlogging.

Yes, but sensitive young plants benefit from a buffer zone. Make a small planting hole with LightMix – about 0.3 L in the Monster Soil Pot, or about 0.5 L when using the mixed Concentrate – and plant the seedling there. With the Concentrate, pre-grow seedlings in grow plugs first.

Use at least 11 litres of mixed soil per plant.

Yes. After the harvest, loosen the used soil and mix in 3–4 L of fresh Monster Soil Concentrate for every 10 L of used soil.

Monster Soil is enriched with mycorrhiza, Trichoderma spp. and other beneficial fungi and microorganisms. Learn more in What is living soil?

A base of raised bog peat and sphagnum, worm castings, coconut fibre and perlite, with lime for pH balance and an organic-mineral NPK fertiliser.

Store in a cool, dry place protected from the weather, and reseal opened bags. After long storage, check nutrients, pH and salt content before use.
