Living soil concentrate, ready to mix – and a living soil top dressing: Monster Soil is a living soil built to carry a plant through its entire life cycle. It works as a complete, biologically active ecosystem in the pot. The idea is deliberately simple: the plant needs water and light – Monster Soil takes care of the rest. No extra fertiliser, no boosters, no complicated feeding schedule.
Enough for hungry plants – in an 11-litre pot
Even plants with a very high nutrient demand can be grown successfully in Monster Soil. They need a lot of nutrition to build strong growth and heavy flowers, yet an 11-litre pot is enough for a complete cycle.
That is possible because of the rich and well-balanced composition. The organic components and the microorganisms are matched to each other to form a stable living soil ecosystem. One day after the first watering, the soil is active and ready for planting.
What is in it?
A base of raised bog peat and sphagnum, worm castings, coconut fibre and perlite, balanced with lime and pre-fertilised with an organic-mineral slow-release fertiliser. Added soil life: mycorrhiza, Trichoderma and other beneficial fungi. The full lab values are listed on the Concentrate guide.
Where it comes from
Monster Soil was developed by a master grower and seedbank owner from the Barcelona region. His goal from the start was the perfect organic plant – a vision that eventually led to his own organic seed bank. To get the most out of those genetics he needed a soil matched exactly to the plant, and so he began developing and refining his own living soil more than ten years ago. Monster Soil is the result.
Why a living soil concentrate?
Monster Soil Concentrate is deliberately sold as a concentrate that you mix with standard organic soil before use. That has clear advantages:
- a much longer shelf life than ready-mixed living soils;
- full control over the nutrient density;
- more ways to use it.
For most home growers a 1:1 mix – 50 L Concentrate with 50 L organic soil – is all you need: 100 L of living soil, enough for up to 9 pots of 11 L. Experienced growers can use a higher share of Monster Soil if they want a richer mix; the exact ratio is up to you. Based on our webshop price and a typical bag of organic soil (about €15 for 50 L), that works out at roughly €12 of soil per plant – with no nutrient line to buy on top.
Use it as a living soil top dressing
Because it is so concentrated, Monster Soil is not only a base soil but also an excellent organic top dressing. If a plant needs extra organic material during the grow, spread some Concentrate over the surface of the pot or bed. With the next waterings the nutrients move gently into the root zone.
Refresh and reuse after the harvest
Living soil can be used again. Loosen the used soil and mix in 3–4 L of Monster Soil Concentrate for every 10 L of used soil – and you are ready for the next grow.
The Monster Soil Pot: the same soil, ready to plant
Don’t want to mix at all? The Monster Soil Pot is an 11-litre pot pre-filled with ready-to-use Monster Soil. Remove the lid, use it as a saucer, plant and start growing. Over the whole grow you only water and make sure there is enough light – the living soil handles the nutrition in the background. It is the pot for beginners, and for busy growers who would rather not spend their evenings mixing nutrients.
